Purchasing property in Port Andratx
Many of Mallorca’s admirers have travelled the world. If asked what they consider to be the prettiest port in the Mediterranean, the majority of them will answer Port Andratx – the pearl in the Mediterranean, as it is known.
Since 1960 Port Andratx has continued to develop rapidly from a small, sleepy fishing village to an exclusive port with coveted properties.
Although the modern yacht club “Club de Vela” and the old fishing port with the fish market situated directly on the harbour promenade, are surrounded by hills that boast an array of magnificent villas and prestigious homes, the port has managed to retain much of its original charm. Cafés with inviting terraces, restaurants with Mediterranean and international cuisine, boutiques and art galleries, all vie for the attention of the discerning visitors. Many of these visitors have fallen in love with this unique place and have often purchased an apartment as a holiday home or a permanent residence.
These include many well-known personalities from film, entertainment, music, science, economics and politics. In the urbanisations around the port, such as Montport, Cala Moragues, Can Borras, La Mola, Cala Marmacen and Cala Llamp, international architects and builders have transformed past and present trends into a Mediterranean style and created remarkable and luxurious residential buildings.
