The village of Portals Nous with its port, Puerto Portals, is located in the southwest of Mallorca, about halfway between Palma and Santa Ponsa.

Portals Nous is a not very attractive village: right and left of the main road there are shops for daily needs as well as service providers such as banks, doctors and lawyers. On the hillside behind the village are a few inconspicuous, not very attractive older houses, but then the higher you get, the more attractive the properties become as the view of the sea also becomes more impressive.
Approaching from the main road on the side adjacent to the sea, you will find sophisticated apartment complexes bordering the harbour. These include e.g. the apartment residences Silverpoint, Barlovento and Sotovento and just a few steps from here you find yourself in the midst of the vibrant port.
Puerto Portals
The port of Puerto Portals is considered by many to be one of the most attractive ports in the Mediterranean. Behind it is the village of Portals Nous, in front the sea, against which it is protected by two breakwaters. The harbour was built in 1981 by the German entrepreneurial family Graf, the 2nd generation of which still operates the harbour today. Puerto Portals has 670 berths for yachts between 8 and 80 metres in length. The heart of the port is the shopping mile with a variety of restaurants, bars, and cafés as well as boutiques and designer label shops. People come here to see and be seen, ordinary people, tourists, VIPs (Paris Hilton, Brad Pitt, Jim Carrey, Bill Gates and the royal family) as well as the boat owners. The best-known restaurants are the Baiben (Fernando P. Arellano's only Michelin 2-star chef on the island), Flanigan, the Italian Ritzi, the Spoon with Mediterranean/Asian/German cuisine plus Capuccino with its huge terrace, all of which attract diners from all over the world.
There is always something going on in the harbour: Every year Puerto Portals is the venue for regattas, such the "52 Super Series Regatta", in which America 's Cup participants also take part. Music events, animal shows, charities and a charming Christmas market make the harbour attractive in every season.
