Minkner & Partners’ head office has been established for 20 years in the Avda. Rey Jaime I 109 in Santa Ponsa. Not only is it the main office but it is also responsible for sales of real estate in the southwest of Mallorca from Costa de la Calma to Palma. If you are looking for property in Mallorca whether it be to buy or rent, particularly in the areas of Costa de la Calma, Santa Ponsa, El Toro/Port Adriano, Calvia-Dorf, Sol de Mallorca, Cala Vinyes, Palmanova, Magaluf, Illetas, Portals Nous/Puerto Portals, Bendinat, Cas Catala, Genova, Cala Major und Palma, then Minkner and Partner is the right agent for you. In order for you to discover if you should ‘buy or rent property on Mallorca’ in the coastal region from Costa de la Calma to Palma, we would like to provide information on some of these areas.
The small residential area of Costa de la Calma (the tranquil coast) lies directly between the two resorts of Santa Ponsa and Paguera and differs greatly from both. Although there are also holiday rentals here, the character of a residential area prevails. In the residential complexes and villas close to the main street (Avenida del Mar) and on the slopes of the surrounding hillside landscape there is a mix of Spanish and international residents and owners. The infrastructure is modest with just a few restaurants and shops, however nearby Santa Ponsa and Paguera offer numerous amenities. The popular Hotel Maritim Galatzo has a range of leisure facilities (indoor and outdoor pools, fitness, and tennis courts) and fantastic panoramic and sea views from the welcoming terraces.
There are several small bays with crystal clear waters e.g. Cala Blanca and the Playa des Castellot, so called because of the watchtower located there, which is a small sea inlet with sand and pebbles or Playa Monte de Oro a small pebbly beach with white sand which cut into the cliffs.
Costa de la Calma offers a wide array of apartments and small villas but also luxury villas. If you are considering purchasing or renting a property in Costa de la Calma please contact our sales agents in our Santa Ponsa office who will be happy to help with your enquiry.
Santa Ponsa is one of the main resorts in the southwest of Mallorca. However it has more to offer as it plays host to a prehistoric park Puig de Na Morisca which has tayalotic artefacts that demonstrate that the area was inhabited 3000 years ago. Another important event in the history of Santa Ponsa took place in September 1229 when Jaime I landed with his armada in Santa Ponsa and defeated the Moors, who had occupied the island for 300 years, an event which is re-enacted annually. The foreign residents and tourists who are in the main German and British, seem to set the tone in Santa Ponsa and for this reason the area offers a wide range of opportunities for leisure and sports: the first is the large sandy beach which is the major attraction for the summer visitors and the small marina Club Nautico - a beautiful natural harbour, which was developed in 1975 and has 522 berths. Santa Ponsa’s Golfparadise with three golf courses is known throughout Europe and if you include the nearby Poniente golf course that makes it almost four.
Santa Ponsa’s infrastructure makes it a very attractive proposition – nothing is missing: supermarkets, banks, chemists, doctors, restaurants, cafes, bars, and all kind of local suppliers who cater for the international clientele as most speak English and German. This makes Mallorca’s international friends feel very at home and for this reason they have bought a villa or a holiday rental apartment in the area. Architects and builders have taken this into account and have created beautiful and exclusive residences for this sector of the public. Minkner & Partner has been established in Santa Ponsa for 20 years and is one of the leading real estate agents. If you are considering purchasing or renting a property in Santa Ponsa please contact our sales agents in our Santa Ponsa who will be happy to help with your enquiry.
El Toro would be a fairly nondescript coastal town (except for several impressive villas in frontline that sit high up on the steep rock walls) with simple, small houses that line the coastal strip in rows of three or four. If it had not been for Port Adriano and the adjacent 250 metre sandy beach it would not be the focus of attention. Although the port has existed since the 1970s, it was of only regional importance, until it was converted in 2006 at a cost of EUR 90 million by the operating company Ocibar and architect Philippe Starck into a modern, avant-garde marina. In 2012 this then “completely different" port opened: cool design, extra class berths for boats and yachts, shipbrokers and shipyard representatives, upscale restaurants, galleries and plenty of shopping. The port will not only attract boat owners, but also a consumer oriented public. The new centre of Port Adriano is a 250 metre long two storey building at the pier, which sits above an underground garage. Due to numerous high-profile events with internationally known musicians, exhibitions and shows Port Adriano caters to a discerning audience, but so far has not yet found the acceptance that the operators had hoped for with their investment.
The nearby surroundings of the port, boast very attractive apartment residences and villas that have mostly international residents and this is an important area of work for the real estate agents of Minkner & Partner - Mallorca property. If you want to buy or rent houses or apartments in Majorca in El Toro / Port Adriano, please call the property consultants of Minkner & Partner - Mallorca real estate that will be happy to help you with your enquiry.
The village of Calvia is the centre of the same name municipality of Calvia, which extends from the towns of Paguera in the west to Cas Catala in the east and as far as the outskirts of Palma. The importance of the wealthiest municipality in Mallorca is witnessed by the impressive, powerful town hall, whose modern architecture seems to want to measure itself against the impressive dome-like, neo-Gothic church of Sant Joan Bautista, constructed in the 13th century and which has huge stained glass windows and two bell towers. Although it is well connected to Pto. Andratx, Santa Ponsa, Palmanova and Palma due to a very good road network, it is still set in a peaceful, rural setting at the foot of the World Heritage Tramuntana and therefore in the heart of the "other Mallorca". High above the village is the popular residential area of Son Font with spacious villas which surround the old manor house, and that offer fine views of the landscape and outwards across the sea as far as Ibiza. In the immediate vicinity lies the charming village of Capdella, which attracts many international guests to the Mediterranean Park Hotel Son Claret.
Minkner & Partner - Mallorca property also has a good selection of properties in this rural area from village houses to country houses ( locally known as finca) and renovated manor houses. If you are considering purchasing or renting a village house or rural property in Calvia village please contact Minkner & Partner sales agents in our Santa Ponsa and we will be happy to help with your enquiry.
The urbanization Sol de Mallorca is a somewhat remote locality that lies half way between Palma and Santa Ponsa and is accessed via a wooded country road. It is hard to believe that Mallorca's Casino once stood here but the building is deserted at present, as the casino has moved to new, centrally located premises in Porto Pi, Palma. The coastline of Sol de Mallorca was constructed on in the 1960s with villas owned by Arab investors. In the last decade several sophisticated residences and villas have been built by international owners.
During the Middle Ages the sandstone of the coast was mined for use in the city of Palma and in particular the construction of the Cathedral. Due to the extraction of the sandstone three caves known as ‘Ses Coves de Mare de Deu - Cave of the Mother of God’ were formed in Portals Vells, immediately adjacent to the urbanisation of Sol de Mallorca. Legend has it that Italian sailors were once stranded there during a violent storm and swore that if they survived that they would build an altar there.
Minkner & Partner Mallorca property also has a wide choice of plots, villas and apartments in this region. If you are considering purchasing or renting a property in Sol de Mallorca please contact Minkner & Partner real estate agents in our Santa Ponsa and we will be happy to help with your enquiry.
The tranquil and perhaps somewhat remote holiday resort of Cala Vinyes boasts a charming 60 by 8 metre bay with large hotels and apartment complexes. The picturesque beach surrounded by palm trees slopes gently into the sea which makes it the ideal holiday spot for families with young children. The surrounding area is not very developed and for this reason there is a wide variety of building plots available but for the most part without sea view. Those who wish to build close to the sea and within easy reach of Palma are able to purchase a plot of land at a decent price. Minkner & Partner – Mallorca real estate can recommend experienced architects who can help you design and realise your dream home.
Minkner & Partner Mallorca property also has a wide choice of plots, villas and apartments in this region. If you are considering purchasing or renting a property in Cala Vinyes please contact Minkner & Partner real estate agents in our Santa Ponsa office and who will be happy to help with your enquiry.
What Arenal and Playa de Palma is to the German tourists then so is Magaluf and Palma Nova to the British, Dutch and Scandinavians, the only difference being that instead of German bars there are pubs with snooker tables. Both resorts are built on beautiful sandy beaches and today almost blend into one another; however Magaluf is louder and shriller than the somewhat quieter resort of Palmanova. Large hotels were built right on the beach in both resorts and a wide variety of entertainment is on offer. The expansion of the promenade in recent years, plus inclusion of showers on the beach and an array of boutiques, cafés and restaurants has caused some hotel groups to represent themselves as event hotels providing special music entertainment in the hope of attracting a young but more discerning public. This seems to be a popular decision supported by the local government.
Some of the hotel facilities have converted parts of the hotel into apartments and sold them with the proviso that the owners are allowed to use the hotel facilities, especially the bars, restaurant and spa areas for free. Within walking distance of the beach and the large hotels there is also a small supply of apartments and one family houses for holiday use and as permanent residences that benefit from the infrastructure of a resort and the nearby beach.
Minkner & Partner – Mallorca real estate have apartments and houses for sale or rent in Magaluf und Palmanova. Please contact our sales advisors in our Santa Ponsa office who are happy to help you with your enquiry.
Small is beautiful certainly applies to the seafront resort of Illetas. High class apartment residences and exclusive hotels nestle around the bay. The exclusive Anchorage Club which sits high above the resort was built in 1982 by the renowned French architect Francois Spoerry who had already gained worldwide acclaim for the construction of Port Grimaud in Saint Tropez. Spoerry has succeeded in combining French architecture with Spanish flair and Venetian elements and the property also boasts a small private beach and direct sea access. The club covers an area of 300 hectares and gives the impression of a charming village with 230 apartments, a restaurant, gym and wellness area as well as several community pools. It is not unusual that Illetas is sometimes compared to Monte Carlo.
The beach with its crystal clear water offers all amenities such as fresh water showers, sunbeds, sun umbrellas and several restaurants as well as public toilets. Close by is the popular beach of ‘Cala Es Forti’ so called because of a fortress erected there at the start of the 19th century in order to protect the port of Palma.
The supply of apartments in this preferred residential area close to the sea is scarce. No wonder when you know that, for example, some of the apartments in the Anchorage club have been owned for 30 years by the same family who would also like to buy another apartment. Nevertheless Minkner & Partner - Mallorca property always has interesting apartments and houses in Illetas for sale or rent. So if you are interested in buying an apartment or a house in Illetas, please contact Minkner & Partner real estate agents in our Santa Ponsa office.
Portals Nous just five minutes west of Palma and owes its popularity to its close proximity to a beautiful coastline and has developed into a bustling village that lies on the main road that runs between Palma and Santa Ponsa. Both functions are clearly determined: on one side is the village with its numerous businesses which include utility suppliers and craftsmen and above the beautiful hills where several residential areas have developed which in the main are inhabited by British and Spanish residents.
Portals Nous has gained a great deal of significance since the construction in 1986 of the exclusive yacht marina of the same name which was inaugurated by the German industrialist Klaus Graf. The port has gained the same status as Saint Tropez, Cannes, Monaco and Porto Cervo and offers 700 berths and almost 100 commercial properties which comprise restaurants, cafés, boutiques, jewellers and real estate and yacht brokers vying for the attention and the money of a discerning and pampered to public. Here you can see and be seen, shop ‘til you drop, stroll around and enjoy or relax whatever suits you best.
Nearby are two lovely beaches that attract a younger audience as well as families. On the right hand side looking from the sea is the ‘Platja de S’Oratori’ - so called because of the small church there - which is defined by a small offshore island with crystal clear water. On the left hand side is the ‘Platja d’en Blanes’ which is a little smaller but has a pier. Within the immediate vicinity are numerous leisure facilities and tennis courts as well as the ever popular Marine land with its aquarium, dolphinarium and tropical green house as well as animal shows.
Minkner & Partner – Mallorca real estate has a good choice of apartments and villas in Portals Nous and Puerto Portals. Very sophisticated apartment residences situated directly above the harbour as well as exclusive chalets and villas high above the town centre and offering the most spectacular views. If you are interested in buying an apartment or villa in Portals Nous / Puerto Portals or rent, please contact our real estate agents in the Minkner & Partner office in Santa Ponsa.
Just across the highway lies the residential area of Costa d`en Blanes which nestles in the hills above the sophisticated harbour, Puerto Portals. Due to its elevated position you have a spectacular view of the harbour and the sea, and a partial view of Palma. The Blanes family, after whom the region is named, is still one of the most influential families on the island with a lot of real estate and business investments.
Costa d’en Blanes is one of the most sought after residential areas by foreign buyers. This is no surprise; Puerto Portals the elegant yacht marina is at its door as too is the Bendinat golf course and several international schools are in the immediate vicinity. Combine this with the fact that Palma is just a few minutes away, what more can anyone want.
Minkner & Partner – Mallorca property also works in this region. Over the years we have built up an extensive network of owners and property managers and always know ahead of the competition when owners are planning to sell. If you want to buy or rent a villa in Costa d`en Blanes, please call Minkner & Partner - Mallorca property in Santa Ponsa and our real estate agents will be happy to assist you with your enquiry.
This elegant residential area which sits between the motorway and the sea is immediately recognisable due to the neo gothic castle in the style of a fortress. The area owes its names to Jaime I the conqueror who in 1229 landed in Santa Ponsa and during the course of conquering Palma rested in the very castle and was served a meal of soup, olives and garlic. He thanked his hosts by saying ‘Be hem dinat’ – how well we have dined. Bendinat.
Today Bendinat basically comprises three villas urbanisations situated around the Royal Golf Course and the Castle: Castillo de Bendinat or Bendinat Golf - just above the 18-hole golf course and overlooking the golf course, the castle and the sea, Anchorage Hill beyond the slip road with fantastic sea views and old Bendinat, where the most desirable plots are situated overlooking the sea. Experts say that Bendinat is one of the most expensive residential areas in all of Spain.
Plus points: the Royal Bendinat Golf Course can often be accessed from one’s own property with a golf cart, Puerto Portals with its multiple dining options is just around the corner, and Palma with its diverse cultural and gastronomic offer is just a few minutes’ drive away.
If you are interested in buying or renting a villa or apartment then Minkner and Partner is the right real estate agent for you. Minkner & Partner- Mallorca real estate includes the most beautiful villas available around the Bendinat golf course. If you are considering a property in this area please contact our real estate agents in Santa Ponsa.
Cas Catala is directly adjacent to the aforementioned Bendinat and both are bordered by the sea to the south and in the north by the undulating hillside scenery Where most properties enjoy stunning sea views. The coastline plays home to top class hotels such as the Maricel which is lauded for its inviting sun terraces overlooking the sea, its sophisticated interior design and its excellent cuisine.
Incidentally Cas Catala has a mixed development of good apartment complexes and Mediterranean villas. The urbanisation is also a popular choice for business people and professionals due to its close proximity to Palma.
Minkner & Partner Mallorca - real estate has a wide selection of house and apartments for sale or rent in Cas Catala. If you are considering a property in this area please contact our real estate agents in Santa Ponsa who will be happy to help with your enquiry.
Travelling west from Palma the 300 metre high view point Na Burguesa offering stunning views over the bay of Palma is easily visible and in the evening with all the lights of Palma twinkling in the dark the view is unique. You could combine a visit to Na Burguesa with a visit to the restaurant ‘Na’. Close by are the caves of Genova which unlike the Porto Cristo caves dispense with music and lights, but rely solely on their natural beauty. The caves are accessed from the terrace of the restaurant La Cueva.
Genova is a mountain village where the houses line the narrow streets that sit above and below the main road. In summer the village is very tranquil but in the winter the village comes to life again due to the numerous restaurants offering Mallorcan cuisine. Satisfied customers both locals and tourists pour onto the streets and generate a warm and happy ambience.
The real estate offer in Genova is very clear. Nowadays new properties both traditional country style properties and modern villas are being built on the outskirts of the village and are in great demand by foreign clients. Its elevated position which assures breathtaking views, as well as the numerous restaurants that are within walking distance plus its close proximity to Palma attracts evermore interest. Minkner & Partner Mallorca - real estate has a wide selection of villas and plots for sale on the outskirts of Genova. If you are considering a property in this area please contact our real estate agents in Santa Ponsa.
Cala Major, which merges almost seamlessly into the municipality of Palma, was at the start of tourism on the island, one of the most sought after holiday destinations. This also bears witness due to the many older hotels on the seafront, which is the largest beach in Palma (hence the name Cala Major). The beach is 200 metres long and 80metres wide and in order to meet the demand of tourists, countless small catering establishments, cafés and bars can be found right and left of the main road. The area is slowly starting to recuperate but needs to be refurbished and modernised in many parts. However, the old charm of this tourist mile from the 1950’s is slowly recovering.
Cala Major was also the place of residence of the famous artist Joan Miro lived and worked there from 1956 onwards in his house Son Abrines. Today it is the headquarters of the Miro Foundation - Fundacio Pilar i Joan Miro a Mallorca where numerous works by the artist are on display and where his studio can be visited. Furthermore, there is a library, a study centre and a lecture hall. Both the home of the artist and adjoining gardens van be visited.
On the frontline is the summer palace of the Spanish royal family and the gardens of the property will be open to the public from next year on.
The real estate listing in Cala Major is manageable. Occasionally renovated apartments with sea view which are always of interest to investors, sometimes an old town house of character with many traditional elements, become available and although the rehabilitation and restoration is a challenge, it is worth it. Minkner & Partner - Mallorca property also offers apartments and houses in Cala Major for sale or rent. If you are interested in buying or renting a property in Cala Major please call our real estate agents in Minkner & Partner - Mallorca real estate Santa Ponsa office.
Palma, the capital of Majorca, can look back on a more than 2,000 years of history. It was founded by the Romans under Quintus Caecilius Metelius in 123 BC as "Palmana palmensis". However, colonisation of Mallorca was already in existence in 5000 BC. Almost 500,000 people live in the municipality of Palma today which is approximately half the total population of the Balearic Islands. The long local history is also reflected in the varied architecture of the city: 31 - mainly Gothic - churches and the mighty cathedral (La Seu) show the importance of Christianity for the city and the island. Next to the cathedral towers the Almudaina Royal Palace, that today serves more as a museum and accommodation for state guests. Not far away is the impressive old maritime trading building La Lonja which also features Gothic architecture. Art Nouveau was also an inspiration for many impressive buildings in prominent places in the city.
Palma is also a place throughout the year for the Arts: For music and theatre lovers, there are numerous venues, particularly the Teatro Principal and the auditorium. Many museums bear witness to the ancient history of the city, but also to contemporary art, which will be presented to Es Baluard Museum and many galleries in town.
On the main shopping streets of Palma, the Passeig des Born and Avenida Jaume III, Plaza Major and the many side streets provide everything your heart desires, from traditional grocery stores to international brands, restaurants, cafes and bars - for all tastes and pockets.
Real estate offer in Palma is abundant and Minkner & Partner- Mallorca real estate has a large portfolio: from charming apartments to small city houses and old city palaces – requiring renovation or renovated – in the old town of Santa Catalina, La Lonja and Calatrava. Others prefer modern apartments on the Paseo Maritimo or an apartment or fisherman's house in the trendy neighbourhood Portixol or a Mediterranean or modern designer villa in Palma’s suburb Son Vida. In accordance with your real estate dreams in Palma, Minkner & Partner - Mallorca properties can advise you when purchasing or renting an apartment or a villa in Palma. If interested please call our real estate agents in the Santa Ponsa office.
Minkner & Partner’s Pto. Andatx branch office is responsible for the sale of real estate from San Telmo to Paguera. If you want to buy or rent property in Mallorca, especially in the towns of San Telmo, S`Arraco, Andratx, Pto. Andratx, Camp de Mar and Paguera then you are in the best hands when you call our Pto. Andratx. If you are considering „buying or renting real estate on Mallorca " in the areas of San Telmo, S`Arraco, Pto. Andratx, Camp de Mar and Paguera we would like to provide you with some information regarding the various places.
The small, sleepy seaside town of San Telmo is located on the west coast of Majorca in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains. It can be reached, along a winding road that runs from Andratx to S`Arraco. San Telmo nestles on a 180 metre long sandy beach and the surrounding area comprises small hotels and apartment buildings, which are mostly used as summer residences. The village is a popular destination for families during the holidays and at the weekends. There is a variety of small bars and restaurants offering Mediterranean cuisine.
Off the coast are the small islands of Pantaleu and Dragonera. Accomplished swimmers can reach Pantaleu easily but Dragonera is, even for good swimmers, too far. There is however a ferry to cross to Dragonera. Since 1995 Pantaleu is under conservation and is home to a nature reserve and bird sanctuary, with gulls, shearwaters, hawks, osprey and lizards.
San Telmo is also the starting point for hikes in the Tramuntana mountains. A hike to the ruins of the monastery "Sa Trapa", which were restored by environmentalists following a forest fire, is available.
The real estate offer in San Telmo is small. Howver there are always some apartments to buy or rent and sometimes even detached houses. If you want to buy or rent houses or apartments in Mallorca in San Telmo, then please contact real estate agents in the Pto. Andratx office
The small street that runs through the village of S`Arraco has retained much of its original charm, because it was in the main, spared from the "blessings" of tourism. Records show that in the 13th century this was the place, that the conqueror Jaime I anchored with his fleet before he arrived to neighbouring San Telmo. The construction of the church, which is known for its carillon, commenced in 1704 as a small chapel. Numerous houses along the main street are evidence that many residents were quite wealthy. They are richly decorated; some in the Art Nouveau (in Spain "Modernismo") style and speak of the bourgeois status of their former residents. This was due to the fact that in the 19th century some families emigrated from S`Arraco to France, where they started businesses and trades. Returning to S`Arraco, they invested in their homes to show that they had been successful abroad.
Today S`Arraco has about 1000 residents as the locals have been joined by foreign artists and artisans who love the place because of its originality. Some small restaurants and bars provide an unobtrusive but hospitable service. Those who fall in love with this charming village and are looking for a holiday home or a permanent residence, are unfortunately limited. Every now and then there are country houses and villas on the edge of either the route between Andratx and S`Arraco or on the way of S`Arraco to San Telmo that become available. If you want to buy or rent a house or an apartment in Mallorca in S`Arraco, please contact the real estate consultants in the Minkner & Partner office in Pto. Andratx.
The charming village of Andratx is located about 5 km from the coast and the port of the same name. At the beginning of the 15th century Mallorca was under constant threat from pirates, and the distance between the village and the harbour made it difficult for pirates to retreat. The village is characterised by its narrow streets with houses that are in some cases, more than 100 years old and which now play host to restaurants and small shops. Just off the main road and on the outskirts, there are new buildings; however they do not blend harmoniously into the local surroundings. The village has a good selection of shops for everyday requirements but the gastronomic offer is rather modest. Once a week, on Wednesdays, there is a weekly market. The former noble residence "Palau de Son Mas" following modernisation now acts as the town hall. Residents of Andratx today live mainly from construction, tourism and the service sectors and the rapid development of Pto Andratx is related to its attraction for people from abroad.
Located on a hill, the church of Santa Maria in Andratx, was built in the 18th century on the site of a church from the 13th century and it boasts wonderful views of the surrounding forest and almond and fruit orchards located there. Over 1,000 years ago the Moors created irrigation systems here and made the area one of the most fertile on the island. Noteworthy is the Centro Cultural Andratx, which was founded in 2001 by the Danish gallery owner couple Jacob and Patricia Asbaek and they regularly invite young artists from around the world to stay and work and to be available for events.
If you are looking in the village of Andratx for houses and apartments for sale or rent, please call the real estate agents in the Minkner & Partner office in Pto. Andratx. In the village of Andratx there is a good range of village houses, renovated or not renovated, and in close proximity of the village there is a good choice of country houses.
If you come from the still unspoilt village of Andratx to the nearby port, you enter a different world: a harbour a part of which is the old fishing port and a new part, the chic marina "Club de Vela", whose international owners moor their luxury yachts there, a promenade with typical, but restored colourful facades, behind which are restaurants, cafés, boutiques and art galleries each vying to attract the attention of international visitors. However ...... you cannot escape the beauty of this natural harbour which is often referred to in travel literature as the most beautiful natural harbour in the world.
In the port there is always an occasion to be celebrated: in the first week of July the Fiesta is in honour of the patron saint Sant Cristofol and on 15th and 16th July, the Fiesta of the Virgin Carmen with a maritime procession.
Around the port are the luxury urbanisations of Mont Port, Cala Moragues, La Mola, Cala Marmacen and Cala Llamp, where in recent years luxury apartment complexes with attractive leisure facilities and impressive villas both Mediterranean style and modern were built and whose prices are sometimes in the 2 digit million range.
Minkner & Partner has been established in Pto Andratx for many years and at the end of 2016 beginning of 2017, will move to new and bigger offices opposite the popular fish market. If you are looking to buy or rent an apartment or a villa in Pto. Andratx then do not hesitate to contact our real estate agents in the Pto. Andratx office.
25 years ago Camp de Mar was known only as a small seaside resort with a 200 metre long beach with fine sand and crystal clear water. Since the beach slopes gently into the sea, the bay of Camp de Mar has always been a popular location for family holidays. It provides the ideal snorkelling facilities or you can rent a pedal boat to see up close the luxury yachts anchored off the bay.
Since the construction of the golf course "Golf de Andratx" with the adjoining luxury hotel, now operated by the Steigenberger group, the place is more developed but now attracts both water sports enthusiasts as well as golfers. Among the already existing apartment complexes and houses that are close to the water, in recent years the construction of residential complexes with terraced or detached villas, set in lush grounds with terraces and pool facilities as well as high class detached villas around the golf course has taken place. These properties are occupied by a sophisticated, international clientele - and not just golfers!
The area offers a few shops and restaurants, and just recently a chic beach club with restaurant has opened.
If you are interested in buying houses or apartments in Camp de Mar or rent, then please call our real estate agents in the Pto. Andratx office.
Paguera with its three beaches Palmira, Tora and de la Romana was invented for tourists. There was no other reason - no harbour and no places of interest. Thus Paguera is a very touristy place, which is visited, both in peak as well as off season, mostly by German tourists. After the construction of a bypass, the main road above the beaches was converted to a pedestrian zone - now called Bulevar de Paguera – and traffic is allowed only in extreme circumstances. On the boulevard as well as restaurants there are mainly leather goods stores, drug stores, boutiques and jewellery stores as well as the inevitable souvenir shops. The gastronomic offer directly above the beach area is large and varied. Close to the boulevard there are numerous hotels and resorts, which cater for an international public.
At the exit towards Camp de Mar is the district of Cala Fornells, which was mostly built under the supervision of the architect Pedro Otzoup. On the seafront are Mediterranean residential complexes with apartments that are sought after especially by German buyers. Above the boulevard and high above the hotel facilities perches the urbanisation of Atalaya, where very attractive villas are located offering incredible far reaching sea views.
If you are interested in buying or renting a house or apartment in Paguera then please do not hesitate to call our real estate agents in the Minkner & Partner office in Pto. Andratx.

North of Palma is the charming village of Alaro which sits at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, and is recognised as a Unesco World Cultural Heritage site since 2011. It is dominated by the 825 metre high Puig d `Alaro with its fortress, which due to its steep altitude was considered impregnable for centuries. In Arab times, the Moors fought fighting for eight years to maintain occupancy of the castle. After the re-conquest of Mallorca by the Christians in 1229, the castle fell back into the hands of the Christians in 1231. A macabre story is told in 1285: The King Alfonso II of Aragon was at that time carrying out a punitive expedition against his uncle Jaume II, who was at the time king of Mallorca, and also wanted to conquer the castle of Alaro. The soldiers of Jaume II fought bitterly, led by the officers Guillem Cabrit and Guillem Bassa. Both were captured by Alfonso II’s soldiers and were impaled and roasted alive. Their graves are now found in Palma‘s Cathedral.
The valley of Alaro is particularly fertile as it is protected by the range of mountains and so it is ideal for wine growing. The grapes that produce the excellent wines of the Bodega Castell Miguel founded by the German scientist and entrepreneur Prof. Popp are gown there and there is also an abundance of olive and almond groves. The valley and the mountainous landscape are also very attractive to hikers with hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty that lead to unique places with sensational views. Numerous country restaurants with a wide range of gastronomic delights are the ideal place to relax. The village itself attracts many tourists as its narrow streets lined with historic stone buildings and a small pedestrian area gives the village a very special flair
Minkner & Partner –Mallorca property is the real estate agent on Mallorca that you can rely on and have a good choice of properties for both sale and rent. No matter whether you are looking for a village house in the centre of Alaro or a country house in Alaro, known locally as a finca, Minkner & Partner is the right estate agent for you. Only 14 km northeast of Palma is the tranquil market town of Santa Maria del Cami, in short, Santa Maria. It is nestled in one of the most famous winegrowing areas in Mallorca, with eight bodegas, whose wines are well-known all over the world. The Macia Batle bodega which is located at the exit of Santa Maria, is known not only for its wines tasting events but also for numerous cultural events.
The most important monuments of the town are the parish church dating from 1216 with the portrait of the Virgin Mary at the high altar and its interior design by the famous master builder Francisco Herrara, as well as the Convento de Minimos, which is located directly on the main road and known for its impressive Good Friday procession.
Santa Maria is overrun on Sundays from 7 am to 2 pm following the more tranquil weekdays: due to its weekly market. More than 500 stands run by locals and tourists, offer everything necessary for daily needs, all local produce, in particular fruit and vegetables, dried fruits, sausage and cheese, but also furniture, textiles, shoes, pottery and jewellery. To keep up with modern trends, there is now also a part of the market that offers only organic products. And as in any good market, food items need to be tried before buying - a piece of sausage, a piece of cheese or fruit. On market days it is difficult to get a place in the many small restaurants that offer local delicacies and a wide variety of tapas.
Minkner & Partner –Mallorca property is the real estate agent on Mallorca that you can rely on and have a good choice of properties for both sale and rent in Santa Maria. No matter whether you are looking for a village house in the centre of Alaro or a country house on the outskirts of Santa Maria, or a renovated manor house in Santa Maria then put yourself in the hands of the expert real estate agents of Minkner & Partner – Mallorca property in our Llucmajor office who are responsible for this area.
Puntiro has been a small, insignificant village for centuries, which is known for its close proximity to Palma and a lovely flat, but slightly elevated landscape, from which one has a very beautiful view to the sea. The village has little infrastructure but for shopping you can go to the nearby Portol, Sa Cabaneta, Son Ferriol or Santa Maria.
The village gained more attention and importance when an investor developed an 18-hole golf course by the world-renowned golf course designer Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus's philosophy has always been to emphasise the natural environment by creating entertaining and exciting courses for players of all abilities, and the Puntiro Golf Park has been particularly successful: the Puntiro Golf Park which is a Par 71, was built on a 66-hectare site. It is of medium difficulty, although experienced golfers find it a challenge, especially in the case of the back tees. The natural beauty of the place is not only preserved, but it has also been complemented by pine trees, wild olive trees and carob trees.
As is often the case, when a challenging golf course attracts an international audience, many golfers are looking for a residence or permanent residence near the golf course. It is therefore no wonder that, in recent years, many new country houses – both traditional to modern - have developed in the slightly hilly surroundings of the golf course, which has significantly increased the attractiveness of the region. If you want to ‘customise’ your dream you will also find a good selection of building plots here.
Minkner & Partner - Mallorca Real Estate, your real estate agent in Mallorca, also has an interesting property offer in Puntiro, in particular building plots and very nice country houses with wonderful views. If you want to build your own dream home, the real estate experts from Minkner & Partner are also happy to make contact with English-speaking architects and construction companies. If you want to buy or rent a Mallorca property in Puntiro and its surroundings, please contact the real estate agents of Minkner & Partner - Mallorca - real estate in our Llucmajor office, which is also responsible for the region of Puntiro.
Llucmajor is the main town in the municipal borough of Llucmajor and lies approximately 15kms from the airport and the coastline.
Excavations prove that the region was already populated in the 3rd century BC. Phoenicians, Carthaginians, and Romans have left a few traces. Llucmajor gained a certain importance following the re-conquest of Majorca in 1229 by Jaime I. In 1259 the first church was built. In 1300 the town was named "Villa" by Jaime II - King of Mallorca. The "Battle of Llucmajor" took place in 1349, during which Pedro IV defeated his cousin, King Jaime III, which ended the kingdom of Mallorca and his grave can be found in Palma Cathedral.
The town council of Llucmajor provides not only all public services for the region, but also has a comprehensive range of trade, crafts and service providers. There is also a market, three times a week which takes place on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on the main square which is completely pedestrianized. Around the market square there are many cafés, bars and restaurants, which are particularly busy on market days. On Fridays there is also a flea market on the nearby street, Jaime III, which attracts many tourists.
Away from the Ronda de Migjorn, main road (Minkner & Partner - Mallorca Real Estate is located here), the village has some charming side streets with historic village houses. The main points of interest are the town hall on the Plaza de Espanya, the monument to Majorca's last King Jaime III on the Paseo de Jaime III and the church of San Miguel at the Plaza de Santa Catalina Tomas.
Minkner & Partner - Mallorca Properties has village houses in Llucmajor as well as country houses / fincas on the outskirts of Llucmajor. The coastal strip south of Palma from Arenal to Cala Pi has always been a popular place for holiday homes of well-to-do Mallorquins, although there are only isolated small coves with a sandy beach and the coast is predominantly cliffs. One of these original holiday resorts is Bahia Grande. However with the introduction of tourism it has developed into a village with an infrastructure that offers sufficient restaurants, shops and service providers. There is now also a small shopping centre with a restaurant, cafe, supermarket, bank and pharmacy.
In the meantime, the international public has also discovered this coastal strip and built traditional or modern villas on the front sea line. Apartment buildings and terraced houses have also been built. With increasing building development the infrastructure of the surrounding area has also been expanded, so that the often neglected short-term supply of this region is now no longer an issue. Even though villas and apartments are increasingly inhabited all year round, this development has the character of a holiday resort. The attractiveness of the region has been significantly increased with the opening of the golf course GOLF MAIORIS - just 5 km from Bahia Grande.
Similar developments to Bahia Grande are the neighbouring urbanizations of Son Veri Nou, Badia Blava, Cala Blava, Maioris Decima, Puig de Ros, Tolleric and Sa Torre.
Minkner & Partner - Mallorca Real Estate specializes in the sale and rental of villas in the front sea line on the coastal strip from Arenal to Cala Pi, due to a large demand from a discerning international public. The specialists of Minkner & Partner - Mallorca property will also help you find your dream property on Mallorca.
Cala Pi is a holiday resort in the bay of the same name. The village, with its surrounding areas, stretches from the Torre de Cala Pi, a historic 16th century watchtower built to protect against North African corsairs, to the Torrent de Sa Punta de Sa Dent where it meets Vallgornera urbanization. A visit to the Torre de Cala Pi is worthwhile, because from here you have a fantastic view of the rocky coastline and the picturesque bay. The urbanization Cala Pi is a purely a holiday resort, which is inhabited mainly during the summer months. There is hardly any infrastructure. There are some small restaurants and cafes most of which are only open during the summer season. As the area is some distance from the resorts of mass tourism, it is usually always quiet in the summer season.
A 5 minute walk down a staircase leads to the picturesque bay with its small flat sandy beach, washed by turquoise water, and is regarded by many as "the most beautiful bay in Mallorca". It was formed as a 420 m long and 100 m wide rocky sea inlet, in which the Torrent de Cala Pi flow however it only directs water into the sea during heavy rainfall. The fine sandy beach is 50 metres wide and 125 metres deep. On the west side of the beach there are some small boat houses; a picturesque location which is reminiscent of the Caribbean.
Minkner & Partner - Mallorca real estate also has a good offer of properties in Cala Pi, ranging from building plots to apartments and villas. If you are looking to buy or rent your dream property on Mallorca in Cala Pi, please contact Minkner & Partner - Mallorca real estate experts in the Llucmajor office
Sa Rapita was originally a small fishing village on the south coast of Majorca. It was largely spared from the influence of mass tourism, so that it has preserved its old charm. The popular yacht club is the centre of the village with some traditional restaurants, where there is always fresh fish. The S'Arenal beach, which is about 1 km long, connects the village with the neighboring village of Ses Covetes. There are plans to build small holiday homes that will blend in with the surroundings.
In the already described holiday resorts of Sa Rapita, Minkner & Partner has small holiday homes or terraced houses for purchase or rent and sometimes building plots on which one can build a family house with the help of local partners. In the vicinity of Sa Rapita, there are sometimes country houses or fincas, although the offer is relatively small because of the conservation area bordering the village. If you are interested in buying or renting a house or apartment in Sa Rapita, please contact your trusted agent Minkner & Partner in the Llucmajor branch. Our professional agents will show you suitable houses and apartments in Sa Rapita.
Colonia de Sant Jordi is an old fishing village on the south coast of Majorca, which is important not for fishing, but for the saline salt production. Even the Phoenicians around 600 BC as well as the Romans harvested salt here. Narrow canals, which extend far into the hinterland, characterise the landscape; a part of which is now designated as a nature reserve. The "Flor de Sal" company, which has become widely known far beyond the island, is also located here. The simple sea salt is skimmed and dried by hand. It has 16-fold magnesium content and double the amount of calcium as usual salt. Finally it is refined with aromas and is now traded on the markets and in delicatessens as a "luxury food".
Today, the village is a highly frequented holiday resort with about 3,000 inhabitants. The place is divided in two, on one side a tourist area with hotels and apartment complexes on the flat rocky coast and the other an older part extending to the port. The harbour promenade is a popular attraction for mallorquins and foreign visitors. There are many restaurants and shopping opportunities, as well as the yacht marina and fishing port, where you can choose from numerous excursions. On Wednesdays, the weekly market attracts residents and guests, and the summer festival is particularly popular on the first Saturday and Sunday in August of each year.
West of Colonia de Sant Jordi is the longest, 3.5 km long, dunes-lined natural beach Es Trenc, known by many as one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. With its white, sand and the crystal clear, blue water one has the feeling of being in the Caribbean. Together with Es Salobrar de Campos, the beach of Es Trenc is a conservation area of almost 1.5 hectares. Es Trenc is the last, undeveloped beach of Majorca. Government and environmentalists have successfully prevented all attempts by builders to build here.
Minkner & Partner also offers houses and apartments for sale or rent in Colonia de Sant Jordi. If you are interested in buying or renting a house or apartment in Colonia de Sant Jordi, please contact your Minkner & Partner real estate agent. Our competent staff in the Llucmajor office will be pleased to help you find your dream property.
The small town of Campos lies 10 km inland and is the political and administrative centre for the municipal borough of the same name. The old part of the town comprises two storey village houses which are built of porous sandstone known locally as ‘mares’ and which is sourced from the nearby quarry San Gorau. Some of the buildings are reminiscent of Roman Times such as the manor house Es Pulmar and the thermal baths San Joan de Font Sana, the only source of hot mineral water on the island. The church of St Julian dates from the 16th century. In keeping with its status as the administrative centre of the borough the main street is lined on both sides by commercial properties with service providers, handmade products and various shops.
Thursdays and Saturdays are market days in Campos. The market attracts many people from the surrounding area. The main products are agricultural products, food and household utensils, as well as souvenirs and crafts. The area around the town is agricultural and the main source of income is livestock. The Burguera dairy is renowned for its outstanding tasting cheese. Many windmills which are used for the irrigation of the fields cover the landscape.
The manor houses dating back to Roman times prove that Campos was once a prosperous community. Today, the city elders complain that the wealth of the municipality is the wonderful sandy beach of Es Trenc, from which one cannot yield any income because of the landscape and nature conservation laws. Attempts to build on the edge of or in the nature conservation area were stopped by the Nature Conservation Union (GOB) and

Santanyi is a market town in the southeast of Majorca and is also the political and administrative centre of the municipality of the same name. As early as 1300, the town was granted city rights by King Jaume II. Santanyi has several important historical buildings: e.g. the church of Sant Andreu with its 18th century baroque organ and the town hall on the Plaza Major dating from 1902. The church dating from the 14th century, has a remarkable cross-rib vault, and the remains of the city walls with the gate Porta Murada which dates from the 16th century can also be found there.
The houses in the centre of the village have been restored in recent years, so that today Santanyi would have a chance of winning beauty contest. Many boast a harmonious, architectural combination of classic materials with glass, iron and steel and are a fitting setting for boutiques, bodegas and galleries, which are in abundance. The sandstone houses also offer a fantastic ambience for the market which takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays and attracts thousands of tourists and locals alike. Fruit and vegetables, a wide range of local cheese and sausages, salt, olive oil and wine, as well as shoes and other leather goods, plus household goods and art are all on display. Cala d'Or (Golden Bay) could also be called Cala Blanca (white bay), because the man-made resort is characterised by its Ibiza style white-washed, one or two-storey houses, which blend in with the landscape. These were designed in 1930 by the architect Josep Costa Ferrer from Ibiza. During the summer months, the town centre is overrun with international tourists but in winter it is very quiet. There are shops offering all kinds of goods, cafés, restaurants, boutiques and galleries. In the marina Porto Cari expensive yachts with international owners are moored. The harbour offers quality shops and restaurants with Mediterranean and international cuisine for this discerning clientele.

Porto Colom lies in a sheltered bay on the east coast of Majorca and has the largest natural harbour on the island. Porto Colom is mentioned in historical documents as early as the 13th century, because wine produced in Felanitx was shipped overseas. The name of the town is derived from Christopher Columbus, who discovered America and who according to many academics is believed to have hailed from Felanitx, but the last piece of the puzzle to prove this is missing. Porto Colom is a picturesque fishing port where today the Majorcan fishing boats (Llaüts) anchor. Porto Colom has been largely spared from mass tourism which is mainly due to the fact that there is no large beach, but just two small bays.
The hotels are situated south of the village and this area extends from the Cala Marcal to the Carrer del Vapor Santueri. In a newer neighbourhood close to the yacht marina, there are many shops and restaurants. In the north the fishing district and fishermen still live there and small but good restaurants offer the freshly caught fish. Finally there is the area of Sa Punta, which extends to the lighthouse.
Minkner & Partner - Mallorca real estate also works in Porto Colom and the area around the port. Looking for a small fisherman's house, apartment or villa in Porto Colom? Ask the Minkner & Partner – Mallorca properties experts and they will help you find your dream property in Porto Colom.a
Porto Cristo is a port on the east coast of Majorca with a natural bay and just 13 km from Manacor. Because of its location, Porto Cristo has always served as the port for Manacor. The port can refer to a thousand year old settlement and the caves were in use during the Talayotic period. Other historical discoveries also confirm the presence of the Romans in this area as a few remains of an early Christian basilica with a baptismal font dating from the 5th century were found. However the village was not occupied until 1888.
Porto Cristo nestles around the entire bay of Cala Manacor and has an attractive marina and mooring for tourist ships. Porto Cristo is often regarded as a large holiday resort, but it is also worth visiting the remarkable old town with its many historical buildings that are found close to the church of Eglesia Mare de Deu del Carme. However, international visitors are more interested in the shopping opportunities, cafés and restaurants behind the harbour.
On the coast of Porto Cristo there are numerous caves, which today are partly used for tourist purposes, such as: the Coves del Drac, the Coves del Hams and the Coves Blanques. Particularly popular with tourists are the Coves del Drac which boast one of the largest underground lakes on the island, lake Martel. The highlight of each visit is a classical concert, performed by musicians who sail across the lake in boats. Opposite the marina there is a beach about 200 metres long and 14 metres wide. The weekly market takes place on Sundays.
The real estate offer in Porto Cristo is plentiful: in the centre and the port area there are both modern apartment complexes as well as one family houses. On the outskirts, several attractive holiday residences have been created in the last thirty years, in which terraced houses and detached villas are available. If you are looking for your dream property in Majorca in Porto Cristo and the surrounding area, contact the real estate experts of Minkner & Partner – Mallorca real estate in Llucmajor
The village of Porreres is located south of the motorway that runs from Palma to Manacor. On warm summer days the village with its narrow streets and windows, with houses that always have the shutters closed, seems to be in hibernation.
