Rooftop bars, which have long been a trend internationally, have also become popular in Palma in recent years. Not only the big hotels of the international brands, but also smaller boutique hotels in Palma have exquisite roof-top bars and restaurants on the roof terrace, in order to offer guests not only a culinary experience, but also a breathtaking view over the roofs of the old town to the sea. The Hotel Sant Francesc is located in a historic city palace in the middle of the old town, which architecturally combines history and modern times in a harmonious way. The Singular Roof-Top-Bar is located on the 200 m large roof terrace with a small pool. Here, one can enjoy light, Mediterranean meals and cocktails during the day in the sun and with a great view over the roofs of the oldtown, also in the evenings one can be spoiled with a romantic atmosphere. Only opened in October 2018, the 5-star Palacio Can Marques Hotel (adults only), a building dating from the 18th century, has become a popular attraction for locals and visitors alike. Because of its central location, it is an ideal starting point for a stroll through the city. The most important sights of the city are practically on the doorstep. The former city palace now houses a 5-star hotel with impressive interior, a restaurant and the elegant roof-top bar “The Terrace”. From here, one can enjoy a fantastic view to the Cathedral and over the roofs of Palma’s old town. On the Roof-Top-Terrace you can enjoy the sun during the day and in the evening, with pleasant temperatures after dinner, you can enjoy the sunset and be spoiled with cocktails, long drinks, exquisite wines, cava or champagne perfectly prepared by the barman. In a Spanish Art Nouveau (Modernisme) building from 1904, excellently restored in recent years, in the trendy Santa Catalina area, a charming Sky Bar awaits not only hotel guests. From the Sky-Bar, which is open from March to November, one has a breathtaking view of the bay of Palma, the old town and the Cathedral. On the appealing roof terrace, you can enjoy an exquisite breakfast from the healthy, tasty and attractively presented buffet and in the evening – from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. – you can enjoy delicious cocktails – all classics and variations with wine and cava, accompanied by music and a vibrant atmosphere. The Sky Area Bar on the 8th floor of the 4-star Hotel Almudaina in the heart of Palma on the Jaime III shopping street is a trendy meeting point in Palma. Here you can enjoy the sea breeze, sunsets, chill-out music, fresh cocktails and delicious snacks. All of this with the fantastic backdrop of the Mediterranean, the Cathedral, Castell Belver and Palma’s old town. During the day, the Sky-Area already welcomes guests, you can eat á la carte or order the Mediterranean lunch menu, which is offered on weekdays for 15 euros (choice of three main courses and starters, dessert and a drink). Outside the meal times (13.00 h – 16.30 h and 19.00 h – 22.45 h) there is coffee and cake, sandwich variations, snacks and of course, only to be expected for a roof-top bar – cocktails. A friendly and attentive service completes the visit to the Sky-Area at the Hotel Almudaina.
