Inline skating in Mallorca – elegant and light-weight gliding along

Almost all year round, on Palma’s seafront promenade, the Paseo Maritimo, which stretches from Porto Pi to Portixol, you can see mostly young, sporty people in smart sportswear skating. The route is flat and well-suited, the scenery unique: it goes past large motor yachts, elegant sailing ships, small fishing boats, and there is always a refreshing breeze blowing from the sea; on the other side, you can see the Castillo Bellver in the background, pass the Auditorium, the La Lonja maritime exchange and the Cathedral. From Portixol, the route continues to the port of El Arenal. A little tip: The sea promenade is of course also used intensively by pedestrians. So please drive defensively and always be ready to brake.

But there are also other very attractive routes. The route from Illetas via Portals Nous to Magaluf is very popular. Others prefer the north of the island and skate on the beach promenade of Can Picafort. The beach promenades are usually easy to navigate. It gets more difficult in the interior of the island, where the route takes you along asphalted country lanes. The crossing of the island from Can Picafort via Muro, Sineu, Randa, Llucmajor to Cala Pi is known as the “royal stage”. Beginners are advised to first take a course with one of the numerous providers in Mallorca, so that the riding fun does not end with injuries. By the way: inline skating is the perfect whole-body workout and therefore the ideal balance for an “office-ridden” back.
